The basic templates for the standard letters can be edited by clicking on the 'Tools' menu and selecting 'Correspondence Configuration'.

Select the letter you wish to edit and click 'View/Edit'. This will open the template in your word-processor. Amendments may be made to the text, and additional information drawn from the Editor database can be inserted by adding extra tags. To view the list of Available tags, click on the 'Tags' tab in the Template configuration box. If a tag is highlighted, a description of what data it will insert into a letter will appear below. Note: The performance of the templates in the Editor can be affected by the type and version of Word-processing software installed on your PC, and in certain cases cannot be effectively edited. We recommend using Word Pad.

Use the 'Copy Tag' button to copy, and then paste the tag into the relevant position in the letter. Once you have finished editing a letter, save the file without changing the file name or location.
Note: Changing the margin width of a letter template will have no effect on finished letters. To change the margins of letters generated by the Editor, open the 'Stationary' folder in the list of available letter templates, select the Default letter and click on 'View/Edit'.

Alter the margins as required and Save. These settings will be used for all letters generated by the Editor. To change which Stationary document is used as the default, right-click on the appropriate document and select 'Set as Default'.
The Editor also allows you to create new letter templates from scratch. First select the letter category you wish to add a letter to, then click on 'New'. You will be prompted to enter a name for the new letter. Once this has been entered, a blank word-processor document will open and text and tags can be added as required. When you are happy with the document, save it without changing the file location.
E-mail templates can be edited and created in a similar way.
