It is possible to use the Editor to update the same account on multiple machines if they are all part of the same network. The data will stored on one machine (usually a server) and the other machines will need to be set to look at the correct folder on that machine.
NOTE: It is important that all PC's updating the same Findaproperty account are set to look at the same database. Failure to do so will have the result of incorrect property details appearing on Findaproperty.com.
Step 1:
If the editor is already installed on one machine, you first need to make sure that the folder containing the database is fully shared, i.e. other users have permission to both read and write to it. You may need to contact your IT support if you have problems setting folder sharing permissions.
The location of the data can be checked by opening the Editor and selecting View, then Options and clicking on the database tab. The folder containing the data will be displayed in the 'Shared database location' field. If the folder location is on the C drive of the local machine, you will need to know what the name of this PC is when installing elsewhere. This can be found by clicking on the 'Internet Connection' tab of the Options box. Under 'Network Information' it will tell you the Computer name.

Step 2:
The Editor will now need to be installed locally on any other machines where it is going to be used.
Once installed, open the Editor. This will take you into the quickstart wizard. In quickstart wizard step 1, select connect to an existing database.

Click Next.

Click Browse and find the PC that holds the data.

Select the folder which is the Shared database location (this is usually 'Fap Editor Data').

Click on OK and then Next. Now click on Finish, and the Editor should open and show the same property details as are on the original machine.

To change the database path in an Editor which is already looking at a different database, click on the 'view' menu, select 'options' and click on the 'database' tab. Under 'shared database location', click Select folder.

Once the correct path has been selected, click ok, and the message below will appear informing you that the editor will need to closed and restarted to connect to the correct db. Once the editor is restarted, you should see the correct details.
