If you have received an Editor installation CD from Findaproperty.com, it should automatically start to install when the disc is inserted into the CD-ROM drive of your PC. Alternatively, the installation programme can be downloaded free from Findaproperty.com website. Click here to go to the Editor Download page and click on the Button 'Download Install'. Download and then 'Run' the installation programme. Click 'Next' when prompted by the Installshield Wizard.
You will then need to read and agree to the License agreement to continue.
Next you will be asked to choose a destination location. It is recommended that you leave it on the default setting and click 'Next'.
The Editor will now start installing.
At the end of the installation, click on 'Finish'. You will be informed at this stage whether it is necessary to restart your PC.
You should now have an icon on your Desktop marked 'Editor'.
Double click on the Editor icon. The first time you run the Editor, you will open the Quick Start Wizard which will gather information required for set up. Click on 'Next'.
On step one you will be asked whether you wish to create a new database or connect to an existing database. If you do not already have the Editor installed on other machines in your office, you will need to select 'Create a new database on this computer or the network'. It is recommended that the default location 'C:\Fap Editor Data' is used.
If you already have the Editor installed on other machines, you will need to select 'Connect to an existing database on this computer or the network'. Please refer to the section 'Using the Editor on multiple PC's' for full details.
You will next be asked for your company and office name. Note that what is entered here will not effect your details on the Findaproperty.com site.
Next you will be asked if you have an account with Findaproperty. Click on 'Yes'.
Enter your account number and password. If you are unsure of these details, please contact Findaproperty on 0870 350 1001.
The Editor is now ready to run. Click on 'Finish' to complete set up and launch the Editor.
Note that if you have created a new database and already have property details on the Findaproperty.com site, you will need to retrieve these details before entering any new details. See the section 'Retrieving data from Findaproperty'.
